ARTIST BIO

René Gagnon has taught art & design for almost two decades. His specialty is teaching young people the art of nicking photos from the internet and using photoshop to convert the image so that a stencil can be made. Rene stresses to his students that he can not teach them to be conceptual, but he is quick to advise them to just rip off other peoples concepts because the art world as a whole doesn't care.

Rene's rise to fame occured in 2006 when he was included in the famous, 'Wooster on Spring' exhibition in Soho, NYC. The notoriety he received caused other urban artists to boldly mimick his aesthetic and concepts. This fact never stops him from creating, it just prevents him from sending Christmas cards out every year.
