His distinctive artistic approach challenges the commercialization of happiness and the contradictions of consumer culture, transforming familiar childhood icons into powerful symbols of contemporary society.

Mickey in Disneylandfill (2026) brings Gillette's unmistakable vision into three dimensions, placing the world's most recognizable cartoon mouse amid a miniature landscape of rubble, debris and destruction. Mickey Mouse stands smiling and waving, seemingly oblivious to the deteriorating environment surrounding him. The stark, atmospheric backdrop transitions from pale gray to deep black, creating a haunting contrast with Mickey's bright red shorts and yellow shoes. Presented within an open, black-painted wooden shadowbox, the assemblage cleverly transforms an innocent collectible figurine into a thought-provoking commentary on commercial fantasy, environmental neglect and the uncomfortable realities lurking beneath the promise of the "Happiest Place on Earth."

Created in 2026, this intimate one-of-a-kind original artwork (#1/1) combines a three-dimensional figurine, mixed media and paint within an 8 x 8 x 2-inch wooden shadowbox frame.
