Dutch contemporary artist Handiedan (Hanneke Treffers) is internationally celebrated for her elaborate digital and mixed-media collages, combining vintage pin-up imagery, classical ornamentation, sacred geometry and intricate architectural details into richly layered compositions. Influenced by Art Nouveau, Victorian aesthetics and the glamour of early twentieth-century illustration, her distinctive visual language explores femininity, sensuality, identity and the relationship between beauty and the passage of time.
Created in 2019, De Verbeelding Van De Zoen (Dutch for "The Imagination of the Kiss") is a captivating example of Handiedan's signature aesthetic, presented in an elegant tondo (circular) format.
