ARTIST BIO
fnnch (pronounced “finch”) is a San Francisco-based contemporary street artist known for his vibrant, stencil-driven works that blend pop culture imagery with a sense of playfulness and accessibility. Emerging from the Bay Area street art scene, fnnch built his practice around the idea that art should exist beyond traditional gallery spaces—reaching everyday audiences through murals, public installations, and urban interventions. Working primarily with multi-layered stencils and spray paint, his style merges the bold visual language of pop art with the immediacy of street art.
He is best known for his iconic “Honey Bear” series—colorful, stylized figures inspired by the classic plastic honey bottle found in American kitchens. These bears, which fnnch describes as symbols of happiness, have become a recognizable fixture across San Francisco and beyond, appearing on walls, mailboxes, storefronts, and fine art editions alike. Through endless variations—often incorporating fashion, cultural references, or playful themes—the Honey Bear has evolved into a contemporary pop icon that bridges nostalgia with modern design.
At the core of fnnch’s practice is a belief that art should be inclusive, positive, and widely accessible. Rather than creating overtly political or divisive work, he focuses on imagery that evokes joy and familiarity, creating a sense of connection within public space. His work has been exhibited internationally and has grown from grassroots street installations into a globally recognized brand, while still maintaining its foundation in community engagement and the democratization of art.
