ARTIST BIO

El Bocho's work has been on the streets since 1997, and for several years now more and more in Berlin. That makes him one of the most visible and active street artists in the capital there.

The focus of his work is communication and references to urban life. El Bocho regards himself as an observed observer. For him it is important to work outside the art scene, as this reaches a public that does not visit art-specific places such as galleries or museums. El Bocho records the reactions of the viewer and uses them in his work. This creates a constant flow of communication with the public.

El Bocho appeared in national and international books, magazines, journals and exhibitions. The artist has been interviewed on TV shows in Germany, Hungary, Israel, USA and Hong Kong.

In July 2009 El Bocho completed the largest tape art picture in the world at the Stattbad / Berlin. 15,000 meters of adhesive tape on 1,100 m² were used. In November and December 2009 he took part in an “Artist in Residence” program at the Red Bull House of Art in São Paulo / Brazil.
