ABOUT THE ART
This handmade soft sculpture was created in collaboration with the master makers at Hakkei (Taiwan), D*Face and Dopeness Lab — a strange little hybrid of street art, soft toy and houseplant gone feral. Each piece is beautifully crafted in extremely limited numbers, making every one a proper collector’s oddity.
The 'D*Dog’s' wings and the plant stems contain internal wire, allowing them to be bent, twisted and posed to your liking.
Perch it, display it, or let it lurk on a shelf — it’s part pet, part plant, part problem.
ARTIST BIO (Hakkei)
We regard fabric as a structural language — a way to simulate the forms and rhythms of nature.
By sampling mountain ridgelines, botanical contours, and digital interfaces,
we construct expressions that drift between the organic and the manmade.
Our attention goes beyond form itself.
Weight, displaced symmetry, or a moment of deliberate pause — each element quietly reshapes the rhythm of a given environment.
Each textile structure carries a sense of time.
Materials are repeatedly assembled and adjusted by hand; contours emerge gradually through layered attempts.
We preserve the seams and joints — the tempo of making is embedded in the final configuration.
We do not seek to replicate reality, but to introduce a pause —
a point of interruption that catches the eye and gently shifts perception.
Design need not explain itself.
Contours that suggest, alignments that nearly meet, and subtle irregularities — these are the spaces we choose to leave behind.
These presences settle into everyday surroundings, quiet yet constant in their rebalancing of sightlines and gravity.
We believe order and humor can coexist.
These forms do not speak, but they breathe.
