ABOUT THE ART
'Bust A Move' celebrates the expressive, high-energy figurative style of British contemporary artist Alexis “Bust” Stephens, whose work explores movement, emotion and the human form through an energetic fusion of abstraction and expressive painting.
Created for the artist's 2023 solo exhibition at Pretty Portal Gallery in DĂĽsseldorf, Germany, the image captures a dynamic human figure seemingly suspended in motion. Bold, gestural brushstrokes, fragmented anatomy and contrasting colors convey a sense of movement and spontaneity, while the muted background allows the figure's dramatic energy to take center stage.
The exhibition, held from March 17 through April 28, 2023, reflected Bust's distinctive approach to contemporary figurative art, combining elements of street-art culture, abstract expressionism and traditional painting.
Originally produced as a promotional show card for the exhibition, this collectible piece offers a connection to a specific moment in the artist's exhibition history. Unlike a conventional fine art print, it serves as a tangible piece of gallery ephemera documenting the event.
Professionally float-framed with UV-protective glass, Bust A Move presents an appealing opportunity for collectors of contemporary street art, expressive figurative painting and artist exhibition memorabilia.
