ARTIST BIO
Chuck Sperry lives between the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco and the South of France. For the past two decades, the artist has created hundreds of iconic images in his signature psychedelic style, during this time he has developed a wide following of art and music lovers alike and is one of the most preeminent gig poster artists working today – and one of the only such artists who has so successfully transitioned his career into the established contemporary art market and fine art realm.
Sperry operates Hangar 18, a silkscreen print studio, located in Oakland. He exhibits internationally from Athens to Argentina, Bristol to Belgrade. By conducting workshops and lectures all over the planet, Sperry’s tutelage has inspired a new generation of rock poster and silkscreen artists worldwide.

His artwork has been exhibited at leading art institutions including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and Fort Wayne Museum of Art; his prints have been archived in the permanent collections of SFMOMA, the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, The Oakland Museum of California, The Fort Wayne Museum of Art, San Francisco Public Library (Main Branch), the United States Library of Congress, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He has brought his rock artistry to projects for Goldenvoice, Live Nation, Virgin Megastore, Guitar Center, Random House, Harper Collins, Harvard University Press, Nylon, and Wired.
