ABOUT THE ART
BearbrickĀ (renderedĀ Be@rbrick) is aĀ collectibleĀ toy designed and produced by the Japanese company MediCom Toy Incorporated. The name is derived from the fact that the figure is aĀ cartoon-style representation of a bear and that it is a variation of MediCom'sĀ KubrickĀ design. TheĀ at signĀ in the place of the letterĀ aĀ is a visual device that is a part of the BearbrickĀ brand, and as such, aĀ trademarkĀ of MediCom Toy.
The figure is anĀ anthropomorphizedĀ bear with an extremely simplified form and aĀ pot belly. Each plastic figure features nine parts (widely referred to asĀ toolsĀ in the toy industry): head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs; These nine tools allow eight points ofĀ articulation:Ā swivelĀ head, swivel waist,Ā ball jointĀ arms, swivel wrists, and ball joint legs.
