ABOUT THE ART

A beautiful fine bone china plate featuring imagery from Louise's fabric book, Ode à l'Oubli, a cloth book made up of collages and fragments of her old clothing and household items. 

Each plate design is sold individually, gift boxed with a postcard included. There are four designs in the series.

ARTIST BIO

Louise Josephine Bourgeois (1911-2010) was a renowned French-American artist and sculptor, best known for her contributions to both modern and contemporary art, and for her spider structures, titled Maman, which resulted in her being nicknamed the Spiderwoman. She is recognized today as the founder of confessional art.
