ARTIST BIO
Tracey EmināsĀ poetic, confessional practice spans film, painting, neon, embroidery, drawing, installation, and sculpture. A member of the infamous generational cohort known as theĀ Young British ArtistsĀ (YBAs), Emin has developed a unique conceptual mode of artmaking that embraces both tenderness and audacity.
In era-defining works such asĀ My BedĀ (1998) andĀ Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963ā1995Ā (1995), Emin mined her most intimate experiences for artistic inspiration. She received her MA from theĀ Royal College of ArtĀ in 1989 and has exhibited at galleries and institutions around the world, including theĀ Mori Art Museum, theĀ Whitney Museum of American Art, and theĀ Stedelijk Museum.
Her work belongs in the collections of theĀ TateĀ and theĀ Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and she has represented the United Kingdom at theĀ Venice Biennale. Eminās work has sold for millions on the secondary market, though typical auction results range from four to six figures.
