ABOUT THE ART
Banksy is one of the world's most influential and enigmatic contemporary street artists, internationally recognized for his provocative stencil-based imagery, political activism and uncompromising social commentary. Emerging from Bristol's underground graffiti scene, the anonymous British artist has become a global cultural phenomenon, using public spaces and unexpected artistic interventions to challenge authority, confront injustice and provoke debate.
Kneecap is a politically outspoken Irish hip-hop trio from Belfast, Northern Ireland, consisting of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí. Known for their energetic performances, provocative lyrics and use of both Irish and English, the group has attracted international attention for its unapologetic political expression and distinctive fusion of music, cultural identity and activism.
Released in 2026 through Heavenly Recordings, "No Comment" brings together Kneecap and British electronic music producer Sub Focus for a politically charged single accompanied by cover artwork courtesy of Banksy. The collaboration connects two provocative forces in contemporary British and Irish culture, united by their willingness to challenge political institutions and established authority.
The record's picture sleeve features imagery from Banksy's controversial Royal Courts of Justice mural, which appeared on the exterior of the historic London courthouse on Carey Street in September 2025. The stencil depicted a bewigged judge striking a fallen protester with a gavel, an image widely interpreted as a commentary on the treatment of protesters and the exercise of judicial and state power. The artwork was quickly covered and subsequently partially removed, adding to its notoriety and significance within Banksy's politically engaged body of work.
The sleeve reproduces the mural in its altered state following the removal work, preserving a visual record of the controversial intervention. Importantly, the image was used with the artist's permission, carrying the credit "Artwork Courtesy of Banksy" and establishing an authorized connection between the anonymous street artist and Kneecap's musical release.
This collectible 7-inch single was produced as a limited edition of 600 copies, pressed on distinctive translucent green vinyl. Side A features "No Comment" with Sub Focus, while Side B contains Kneecap's "Get Your Brits Out." The release includes its original picture sleeve and green promotional hype sticker, issued under Heavenly Recordings catalog number HVN856.
This example has been professionally presented by Signari Gallery in a black MDF frame with white matting and UV-protective glass, creating a striking display of the original Banksy-designed record sleeve. The vinyl pressing and original promotional materials accompany the presentation.
Combining contemporary street art, politically charged hip-hop and collectible vinyl culture, "No Comment" (2026) represents a compelling crossover between visual art and music. Its limited production, authorized Banksy cover imagery and connection to one of the artist's most controversial recent public works make it an appealing piece of contemporary cultural memorabilia.
A distinctive collectible for admirers of Banksy, Kneecap, political street art and alternative music history.
