KAWS: HOLIDAY is back! For its seventh iteration, COMPANION will be making a stop in Singapore! Since 2018, KAWS’ HOLIDAY has toured Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Outer Space and the UK.
As part of HOLIDAY’S goal to promote public appreciation of the arts, and fresh from its flight in the skies of the English countryside, KAWS and long-time collaborator AllRightsReserved, will be bringing the global phenomenon to the Lion City, Singapore.
KAWS: HOLIDAY Singapore is a new, monumental artwork measuring 42-meters long that depicts a pair of KAWS’ signature character, COMPANION, reclined and in embrace.
Set on the iconic The Float @ Marina Bay, KAWS: HOLIDAY Singapore will become a unique feature in the city’s skyline. With the planned redevelopment of The Float in March 2022, the exhibition will become the last monumental artwork at the location making this stop one for the history books.
ABOUT THE ART (Fan)
To beat the relentless humidity in Singapore, the collection also includes a fan made of paper and bamboo. It features the Singapore logo in green on one side and the KAWS mascot on the other.
Upon closer inspection, the bamboo material of the fan has the words “KAWS:HOLIDAY” engraved on it, along with more subtle “X” patterns on the paper.
