ARTIST BIO
Alfred G. Huber (1908 - 1982) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After travelling extensively throughout the United States for a number of years, he decided to make Chicago his home. His decision was reached shortly after he was commissioned to do the artwork in the lobby of the famous night club "Mr. Kelly's" in Chicago.
Through the years Mr Huber's works have found their way into private collections of many famous television and movie personalities. Also, one can find his paintings in the art museums in Philadelphia, Kansas City and Syracuse, NY.
Alfred Huber painted in a great variety of subject matter and in a wide range of styles, most specifically Art Deco. He had a rare sense of presenting a very common subject in a very appealing and likable way.
Since 2015, the record price for this artist at auction is 7,500 USD for Woman Reclining on a Divan with Floral Abstract Background,, sold at Crescent City Auction Gallery in 2023.
