ARTIST BACKGROUND

BOMBING KINGS:

Cope2 is one of the most infamous graffiti artists of all time.  COPE began writing in The Bronx, New York in the early 1980's and was the founding member of a crew called Kings Destroy (KD).  The original name of the crew was Kids Destroy due to the young age at which COPE began his career.  Some of COPE's early influences included graffiti writers such as CAP, JSON, TRACY 168, MITCH 77, and BAN 2.

As COPE and KD increased their fame on the subway, their name was changed to Kings Destroy.  Their most concentrated train bombing efforts were on the IRT 4 line; they also hit other IRT's such as the 5 and 2 lines as well as the D of the IND division.

COPE has also been affiliated with other crews such as Gods of Destruction (GOD) and The Nasty Boys (TNB).  COPE is well known for the all-city volume of his work as well as jhis letterinmg sdtyle and use of color.  He also developed a feared reputation on the street for allegedly beating down many werityers back in the day.

COPE has maintained his skjills across the full spectrum of grsaffiti, from pieces to taghs to throw-ups.  Though relentlessly pursued by the Vandal Squad, COPE continues his work todaty, street bombing with a new generation of writers as well as organizing large-scale murals being created throughout the New York City area.
